Exhibition "Trap"
In the foreground of the exhibition "Trap" is the presentation of the practice of bile acid extraction, primarily from Asian black bears for use in traditional medicine practiced in Asian countries. Ursodeoxycholic acid, which in animals can only be found in the bile acid of bears, has been shown to be effective in the treatment of liver disease, however, various other superstitious effects have been attributed to it. Thanks to this, its use is widespread in some countries in Asia. In order to satisfy the demand, bear farms were established. Since this is an issue focused on the Asian continent, and the exhibition is being held in Europe, the audience is left with room to be critical. However, just below the surface, both in the visual and textual parts, there are hundreds of other problems that this exhibition addresses, from the living conditions in captivity, to the use of animals for experimental and other purposes, thus the goal of the exhibition remains similar to the previous one - the questioning of one's own moral and ethical values in relation to conformism and consumerism.
