About the project "Hope for the future"

The doctoral art project “Hope for the Future — Synergy of Narrative and Ambiental Installations” consists of two solo exhibitions entitled “The Last Journey”, realized in March 2022 at the FFA Gallery, and “Trap” realized in April 2024 in the space of the former club “Academy”. The motive for the creation of this project is the desire to address environmental problems, primarily the problem of environmental pollution and loss of habitat and biodiversity, as well as the issues of unethical treatment of animals. The main actors of the narrative that follows this project are the girl Hope and Sylvie, a fictitious creature who has become her companion, while their relationship is an allusion to our relationship with nature. This narrative works in two directions and consists of two basic entities that are unique, but connected. On the one hand, we have a written segment in the form of Hope’s diary, and on the other, we have solo exhibitions as isolated fragments of a wider story. These two segments condition each other during the creation process. Both exhibitions are focused on the transformation of the space and the creation of a certain ambient using sculptures, digital media, interactive objects, drawings, photographs, writings, ambient sound, and natural materials. The audience is encouraged to interact and independently reflect and research the topics covered in the exhibitions.
